Use a Windows Registry cleaner and fixer to keep your PC running smoothly
Microsoft designed the Windows operating system with a central system database called the Registry. The Registry keeps track of everything about your system including almost everything that you add to it. By keeping a system database Windows allows all the software in your system to interact and work together to deliver the rewarding and enjoyable experience that you've come to love but it does come at a price.
Designing a system that's as complex and simple to use, as the Windows operating system is an understated achievement despite the criticism it often gets. Microsoft was however unable to eliminate the need for ongoing maintenance. They took the easy way out and built in the need to maintain and repair the system regularly to keep it running at its optimum performance. Fortunately software is available to perform this ongoing maintenance for you. Maintaining your Registry is easy if you have the right tools.
Don't attempt to fix your registry yourself
Microsoft knew that they would have to provide some way to edit the Registry so they provide a utility called Regedit that allows you to change almost every piece of data stored in the Registry.
Regedit is a very powerful tool but it has the potential to completely wreck your system and render it useless if you make a mistake when changing things. There are thousands of entries in the Registry and you need to know exactly what you're doing before you attempt to edit any of them. The average user can't possibly be expected to understand the registry so leaving it alone is the only safe option unless you use an expert tool to do the job for you.
Use an expert PC repair tool to maintain your Registry
Windows operating system and Registry experts have written software that scans, repairs and maintains your system. If you use these repair tools regularly they will look after your system for you and keep it running at top performance. This means that you don't have to worry about maintaining the Registry yourself.
Honestly maintaining the registry using only Regedit is close to impossible for most people. I'm a Windows application software developer and I avoid making manual changes to the registry as much as I can. When I can't avoid it I make very sure that I've backed it up before I start so that I can recover when I mess it all up.
